COLLABORATIVE SERVICES

Similar to Mediation, Collaborative Divorce and, more broadly, Collaborative Practice, are non-adversarial methods of alternative conflict resolution that make it possible for participants to work together in a supported environment to achieve the most favorable results for themselves, their families, their businesses and their interests. Participants and their Collaborative lawyers commit themselves to finding resolutions and creating agreements fairly and equitably without going to court.

Participants and their lawyers may also obtain the help of neutral experts, such as Divorce Financial Planners, Conflict or Divorce Coaches, and Child Specialists, who are specially trained to work collaboratively with the participants and their attorneys, bringing their specific expertise to the process and allowing the participants to work more deeply and creatively to reach decisions.

As in Mediation, the Collaborative process takes place in an informal and private setting, allowing the participants, the Collaborative attorneys and other support professionals to openly and confidentially discuss all issues without going to court and without the public disclosure of private family matters.
